… this is the cottage as it was when we bought it three and a half years ago. It’s changed quite a bit since then but not as much as I’d hoped.

We own the half from the blue door to the cream wall (which is actually our shed on a lower level).

The cottage is known as an overdwelling – we have two levels; the kitchen, living room and bathroom are on our ground floor – road level at our front of the house; and our bedroom (with small en-suite) is built into the roof – you can see the window in the gable above (and if you look closely through this, the skylight too.)

Our neighbours live below us in a two storey underdwelling … Confused? – it’s all about the levels round here and a little bit last of the summer wine.
